Background Info:The first hint that something was up was Wendy going a whole week without being sent to the headmaster’s office. Then came her sudden cozying up to Mig for tutoring in her hard metaphysics class. But is wasn’t until Alex reported several dark and potent books, including the poisonous verse play King in Yellow, missing from the restricted section of the library that Academy staff were able to fit all the pieces together. Fearing the worst they raced to Wendy’s dorm room just in time to see her finish her incantations. Yet instead of some otherworldly horror or sanity bending abomination it was the willowy form a young woman dressed in scalloped yellow tatters that stepped from the smoke. As the bewilderment on both sides wore off it was learned that Wendy had been attempting to summon the entity Hastur but in typical fashion had rushed and botched the incantations. Realizing there was no way to dispel the avatar (since it was unclear how Wendy summoned her in the first place) the faculty decided to take her in and, dubbing her “Hester,” enrolled her in the Academy.
Like Wendy, Hester is something of an outsider to the other Elder Goddesses. Unlike Wendy this seems to be by her own choosing. Though aloof and a little strange (even by Academy standards) she is passionate, somewhat dramatic soul she seems to view the entire world as stage with her in the leading role. Her chosen vocation of theater seems to suit her well and despite her origins she has made a place for herself in campus drama and artistic forums.
